Florette Turn to Midland Telecom for New Telephony Solution

The Customer

Florette is a brand of fresh, ready-to-use vegetables and fruit. It focuses on the quality of products it offers. For 30 years, Florette has developed a trusting relationship with its consumers and every day offers them increasingly broad ranges adapted to the markets on which it operates. In addition to salads, many other products have joined the range: little vegetables for starters or ready-to-use, herbs, sauces and crunchy fruits.

Over three decades, Florette has successfully modernised its industrial resources by developing new patented processes. The brand maintains privileged relations with farmers, who support the company’s development and with whom it shares a keen passion for the business.

The brand currently has 4,000 employees in 10 European countries with five factories in France and twelve others in Europe.

Their Needs

Florette contacted Midland Telecom to be included in their tender process to replace their ageing Cisco Telephone System, which had been causing some issues.

It was vital their staff within the plant have a high quality, wireless telephony service with durable and efficient handsets, to provide excellent coverage over their entire 50,000 square foot warehouse.

Combining that with a modern, up to date and flexible telephony solution, that could grow, at the same pace their UK operations are expanding at. Furthermore, they needed the wireless telephony to blend into and enhance their unified communications.

The new solution needed to provide capacity to include Florette’s other UK sites in the near future.

The Solution

Midland Telecom proposed and project managed the installation of the Unify Openscape Business Server, as part of the new Unified Communication platform. replacing the ISDN30 with resilient SIP Trunks and providing useful call reporting for Florette’ s Management.

Florette wisely decided to run trails of several competing brands of wireless telephony. The Unify WL3 handsets were by far the best performing Wireless Handsets out of the three vendors which were deployed and tested prior to a decision being made. The WL3 handsets provided the best coverage over Florette’s vast warehouse facility.

Florette welcomed Midland Telecom’s approach of providing a single, dedicated Account Manager and a named Technical Support Engineer, providing them with the very best and familiar support through the selection, delivery and ongoing support processes.
