Butcher’s Pet Care is a British family firm competing in a global market. They produce six million cans and trays of dog and cat food each week, exporting to Italy, Poland and the rest of Eastern Europe.

For 30 years, Butcher’s has produced foods that are not only grain-free but which are also free from artificial colours, flavours and preservatives.

The Challenges

Improve productivity and reduce communication costs

Butcher’s Pet care contacted Midland Telecom back in 2005 when they were looking to improve their business communications. Before working with Midland Telecom, Butcher’s pet care recognised the importance of improving customer service through a better system that could connect all the operators and let them work simultaneously from a Desktop Application.

Moving Premises

Responding to growing demand for its tinned dog food in the UK and Europe, the company decided to expand and move to a new site in 2010. They needed to move telecoms and connections to the new premises without interruptions and without changing numbers. Delivering a single experience, wherever they are

Midland Telecom upgraded their telephone system incorporating the HiPath Open Office to the existing Siemens telephone system. This application enables Butcher’s Pet Care to easily view co-worker availability for a phone call or ad hoc teleconferences. The Integration with Microsoft Outlook has been used to take information from an individual’s calendar and used to change call routing preferences and voicemail greetings dynamically. And to meet the demands of its employees on-the-go, HiPath OpenOffice included mobility features.

Stress-free office relocation

During the moving phase, Midland Telecom supported Butcher’s pet care with a clear and detailed “moving premises plan”.
