Quick ITunes trick to free up your IPad and IPhone storage
- On December 7, 2016
I find quite annoying when my iPhone and iPad run out of storage space and I can’t do things like install new apps or make video clips. Unfortunately, iPhone and IPad storage is often at a premium, especially if you have an entry-level model with just 16GB like mine.
I’ve recently done a bit of online research and I found that there is an interesting ITunes trick to free up storage space on your iPhone and iPad that is working very well.
The ITunes trick is to try to rent a movie from iTunes on your IPhone or IPad that is much larger than the storage you have available. For instance, If you have 500MB free, you could download X-men Trilogy, (but don’t worry, you won’t be charged!) which is a 12.71 GB download to free up your memory.
What ITunes will do is to clean up your storage (without deleting your content) and give you a lot more space to use, FREE OF CHARGE!
Here are the easy steps to follow:
- To check how much you have got to your IPad’s Settings > General > Storage & iCloud Usage.
- Go to iTunes and attempt to rent a movie. Choose a movie that has a particularly large file size.
- Tap to rent – but don’t worry, you won’t be charged. After under a minute, ITunes will show a warning box saying you do not have enough space. From here click Settings. Go back into your Storage & iCloud Usage menu and you’ll see you instantly have more storage space available.
With these quick steps, the iPad and IPhone will have automatically deleted non-important in-app data history, temporary files, and offline cache in a bid to prepare for the download.
…and now enjoy your free space!
I hope this help!
