How Unified Communications Makes a Difference

There are many different forms of communications that we handle in differing ways. Not until you examine all the ways you communicate, do you realise there must be a better way.
What Is Unified Communications?
Unified Communications (also called “UC”) is a software application that brings together all the elements of the differing communications and simplifies them into a single application. Behind the UC is a “presence engine”. This collaborates with your diary to check your status and sets your voice mail according to your “presence”. All your voice mail messages are centralised and delivered into Outlook as e-mails you can open and listen to as many times as you want and forward to your colleagues where required.
Email, text, and voice messaging work seamlessly with live voice, audio conferencing, web & video collaboration in one interface, with “presence” notification to indicate your availability to participate.
With versions of your UC on your mobile, tablet and desktop positions, it co-ordinates both you and your colleagues to be more productive. Boost personal productivity by 30% using Unified Communications to obtain more work output from the same headcount, for a fairly minor investment.
How Do You Deploy Unified Communications?
The UC platform is linked to a telephone system which can be cloud or in premises. For each user of the phone system you have a choice to have just a standard phone extension or an enhanced UC class of extension user. Each UC user has a licence that links their desktop computer to the telephone and mobile devices. Once the licence is installed and the UC app downloaded onto mobile devices, the improved communications are enabled. Some web based or in house training will be provided to boost the productivity of your staff.
