Unwanted phone calls or random text messages seem to come at all hours.
According to a recent research from Ofcom, about four in five (83%) of adults living in the UK with a landline phone reported experiencing a nuisance call in the four-week period during January – February 2016. Six in ten (61%) reported receiving a live sales call and silent call (60%), about four in ten (44%) reported receiving a recorded sales call and close to two in ten (17%) reported receiving an abandoned call.
Nuisance calls bug you at work, interrupt your dinner, or wake you up when you’re sound asleep. I think we can all agree they’re a real nuisance. Did you know they could also be a scam?
How to block them?
First of all, we’d advise all customers to register their number with the Telephone Preference Service. This service is totally free and it enables you to record your preference on the official register and not receive unsolicited sales or marketing calls.
Go the website Telephone Preference Service and follow these steps:
Step 1: Register your Telephone Number and Address
Step 2: Indicate your main reason to register
Theoretically, all companies should not contact ANY numbers on this list without your consent to do so.
